"The Garforth Arts Festival is a very ambitious community festival, with an very strong emphasis on educational projects." - Festival Director Dave Evans.

The festival is designed to bring local school children, community art groups, local businesses, visiting professional artists and the wider community together, in a celebration of the arts. The festival has already involved many thousands, if not tens of thousands, of local school children and local people in both educational projects and performances in many cases working along side professional musicians, that often are nationally or internationally known and revered.

Ever since the festival was first held in 2005 each year has seen the festival grow in terms of the number of diversity of events and educational projects plus  each year has offered record levels of participation and involvement from schools, arts groups and the local community.
